What is LipSync Master (LSM) and LSM Studio?
- Firstly LSM Studio, is the combination of LSM Professional, Post Master and Subtitle Master, it also has the ability to export to PlayBack. With LSM Professional you get to export to ANY of the 3d applications listed. Similarly with Post & Subtitle Master, you can use ANY of the applications listed. We never limit you to only one program, as most studios, need and use more than one application. Here at Letterbox we understand this and we don't penalize you for it.
- LSM Professional can lip-sync your animation is less time than you could ever achieve manually. By exporting phoneme curve data, and importing into your 3d application, you can sync morphing of your character to the spoken words.
- LSM Professional can animate, not just morphs/blends, but because we export phoneme curve data, you can tie that to bones, lattices, particles, dynamics, soft bodies, hair, fur, ANY parameter that you can animate, you can integrate with LSM Professional.
- There are 39 phonemes, LSM Professional gives you access to them all. Now if your in a rush, and only want to use a subset, you can make your own custom phoneme set with LSM Professional.
- Think differently, with LSM Professional, as an alternative to importing speech, try sound effects, or music for that matter, then you can tie any word, or phoneme set to this new sound data. It's like having 39 custom animation channels.
- Redo, this is what often happens in the real world, but with LSM Professional, redo's are easy, as all of the material exists in its custom directories, reloading, editing, and saving, couldn't be quicker.
- We are NOT a plug in, other companies do that, we don't. Why? Because of four main reasons,
a) By exporting phoneme curve data, we allow you to work totally non-destructively, example, what to erase all or a part of the LSM Professional animation, select the animated item, and unconnect the phoneme curve data. None of the geometry is effected. No other animation is effected, no properties of any objects are effected. Redo the timing, re-import specific phonemes and reconnect, it's that simple..
b) Because your time is valuable, we made LSM Professional a standalone application because we give you have the ability to have other staff do the sync. Thus animators can animate, modelers can model, textures can paint. Your time, unless you want it to be, can be utilized elsewhere, while assistants do the syncing. Improving studio productivity, speeding the workflow and giving you the freedom to decide what each individual is best at.
c) By creating LSM Professional as a standalone application we and you can create plugins for it. This gives you the power to create what you need when you need it, and utilize the software the way you want to. That's exactly what we did when we built the tools to allow you to use it for games and post work.
d) With plugins generally you need to buy more than one plugin, if you want to use more than one 3d application. With LSM Professional you don't need to purchase any thing more, as with LSM you already have the ability to use it with ANY OR ALL 3d applications. Simply put with one package you can lipsync maya, lipsync xsi, lipsync lightwave, lipsync max and lipsync cinema4d.
