Hello and welcome to Remote Mentor.

What is Remote Mentoring?

Remote Mentoring is where we aid and assist novices to skill them up to achieve production level quality, FAST. We do all of this exclusively over the internet, with all the digital communication tools available today, from Whiteboards for concept work, including MSN for chat, remote control to clearly explain, to image transfer to check final quality. With continuous advise and assistance and ensuring continuous progress and detailed monitoring.

But how tough is tough?

We admit, this is not an easy program, its tough, the two Hero's who just completed it, suffered extensively as we'd ask them often what would seem to be impossible; but with careful planning and assistance the final product was delivered.

Clash of the Titans

Another was the concept work for "Clash of the Titans", where we created new ideas for the characters introducing the new technology to this beloved and great film.

From the Kraken, being based on the more traditional greek mythology. With the inclusion of drama in the shot, via the typical damsel in distress. Now just this damsel alone would have sufficed for most, not us. So you get to see the Kraken and the damsel. The experience of working both these characters so all the details can be seen at what ever scale or camera position was paramount. And the images deliver.

For our other student the project was Medusa; but where we were mainly influenced by the Lybian basis in her jewelry/Armour. Who's goal was to make Perseus have a harder time cutting her head off, with the jewelry/Armour we gave her for both bracelets and necklaces. But keeping them in both an elegant design and functional manner. And of course the main focus of the character is the 100's of snakes on her head. And again you can see the images deliver.

Both of these 'final' projects not only pushed the students but the technology as well, and made them think about alternatives unique solutions.

Because no matter how good you are at delivering creative solutions, you have to get that final shot. They certainly did, and the "Clash of the Titans" concepts and executions are truly professional results.

You Shine

But I must say the students did come thru virtually all test's with flying colours. Some they did not come thru at all, and that's good news. Why?

Because it's our goal to find out what they potentially excel in and make them shine in that field. To push them in that area, like they have never been pushed before. Yes it created friction and sleepless nights for them and us, but the final goal of experience and their new found understanding is worth it.

When you see the pages, you may notice that some of the modeling looks rather easy, they were for Giorgio, it was apparent to us that it was easier for him to model sub-d work, keep the count low(ish) and transfer to sculpt. This is now his preferred workflow. And as you can see from the results it works.

Understand the goal of the program, is NOT to teach everything, but to "find" what people enjoy, what people are good at, and push the student to really maximize that aspect and thus their potential beyond their dreams.

And taking people from 0 - 100, in the shortest possible time, with maximum results, is what we're good at.
